How matching works: the model sticker does the job
Parts are matched by model number, not by brand or looks, and the model number lives on a sticker. Find it, search it on the site, and the products listed for your model come up. Where the sticker is
- Washing machines: front loaders around the door rim; top loaders inside the lid or on the back panel.
- Dryers: inside the door opening, or on the back.
- Fridges: inside the fresh-food compartment, on a side wall or above the top crisper.
- Dishwashers: the inside edge of the door.
- Ovens: the frame behind the door, or beside the storage drawer opening.
- Rangehoods: behind the grease filters.

The suffix is the bit that matters
The classic wrong-part order is a model number written down one character too early.
- Bosch puts an index after the slash on the E-Nr. The Bosch Washing Machine Door Seal WAU28490AU/01, WAU28490AU/02 is listed for those two indexes; a later index can take a different seal.
- Samsung models sold here end in /SA, as on the suspension rod kit above; the same digits without /SA can be a different market build.
- Fisher & Paykel puts letters and a revision digit after the size (WH1060S1 versus WH1060SG1 on the door seal above), and every character is doing work.
- Westinghouse, Simpson, Chef and Electrolux print a PNC beside the model; when a model has been through several PNCs, that code decides which element you need.

Washing machines

Dryers
Belts, heater elements, thermostats, drum bearings and felt pads for vented, condenser and heat pump machines. A condenser dryer that runs a full cycle and comes out damp usually needs the Fisher Paykel Condenser Dryer Heater, DE8060P1, DE8060P2 or its thermostat.
Fridges
Fan motors, temperature sensors, thermostats, defrost heaters and controllers. Dishwashers
Inlet valves, door lock switches, drain pumps and spray arms for Samsung, Omega and the Westinghouse family. Fills slowly with the tap fully on? Usually the inlet valve, like the Omega Dishwasher Inlet Valve ODW717WB, ODW702X, ODW507TXB, ODW707XB. Bosch dishwasher parts are thin on our shelves; our Bosch depth is in washing machines. Ovens
Elements first: fan-forced, bake and grill, mainly Westinghouse, Chef and Simpson, plus a smaller range of thermostats and fan motors. We do not hold oven door seals. Most ovens are hard-wired to 240V: know the right element, then decide who fits it.
Rangehoods
Lamps, yes: halogens and the LED modules that replaced them. Filters, no. Mesh and charcoal filters are sold through the big retailers.

DIY or repairer?
The honest maths. A repairer’s call-out and diagnosis typically runs $100–165 before any part. Most washing machine door seals sit in a $70–130 band, a dryer belt $15–30, a fridge fan motor or sensor $25–60, an oven element $30–60. A seal you fit on a Saturday morning saves a call-out; a belt costs about what the coffee run does while you wait for one.
- Unplug, or switch off at the wall, before touching anything. Ovens and some dryers are hard-wired: isolate at the switchboard too, and in most states the connection is a licensed job.
- Never bypass a lid switch, door interlock or thermal fuse to “test” something.
- Heat pump dryer refrigerant and the fridge sealed system are licensed only.
- Control boards are the last thing to replace, not the first. Fit one after diagnosis, not on a guess.
- Fitted the likely part and nothing changed? Stop and call a repairer. The second guess is where DIY starts costing more than the call-out.
