Quick answer: If your dryer has stopped heating, stopped turning, started squealing or left a puddle, it is almost always one of four parts: the drum belt, the heating element or heater, the rear bearing or drum wheel, or (on condenser and heat pump models) the drain pump. All are stocked in Australia and dispatched from Sydney the day you order (12pm Sydney cut-off). Match the model number on the sticker inside the door or on the back panel and the part follows.
Fit check: the model number on your sticker must appear in the listing title — the badge on the front is not enough. Not listed? Send us the model number and we match it before you pay.

Start with the symptom, not the brand
The towels have tumbled for forty minutes and they are still cold. Or the motor hums, the drum sits dead still, and the laundry smells of hot rubber. Dryers fail in a few predictable ways, so start with the symptom. Every part below is in the dryer parts store, on the shelf in Sydney.
| What you’re seeing | What it usually is | The part |
|---|---|---|
Drum turns, air stays cold | Element or heater burnt out | Fisher Paykel Condenser Dryer Heater, DE8060P1, DE8060P2 |
Motor hums, drum won’t turn (vented) | Snapped or slipped fan belt | Simpson Sirocco 350 455 500 550 Dryer Fan Belt (Heavy Duty) |
Motor hums, drum won’t turn (heat pump) | Drum drive belt off or shredded | Stirling Heat Pump Dryer Belt SHPD80W GGSHPD80W STR-HPD80W |
Squeal, rumble or thump | Rear bearing or idler pulley worn; do belt and bearing together | Simpson Dryer Belt, Idler Pulley & Rear Drum Bearing Kit (39S500M, 39S600M, 39P400M, SDV401, SDV501, SDV601) |
Water on the floor, or “tank full” with an empty tank | Condensate drain pump stalled | FISHER & PAYKEL HAIER Dryer drain Pump DH8060P1 DH8060P3 DH9060C1 DH9060P1 HDHP80A1 HDHP80E1 |
Trips the safety switch as it heats | Earth leakage in the element or heater coil | Stirling Condenser Dryer Heater STR-CD8C |
Lint blowing into the room | Filter grille outlet broken at the hinge | Genuine Omega Euromaid Clothes Dryer Filter Grille Outlet OCD40WA DM4KG ED45KG |
Vented dryers: belts, elements, capacitors and brackets
The vented dryer is the box on the laundry wall in most Australian homes: Simpson, Westinghouse and Electrolux on a shared platform, Haier’s HDV series, and the Solt, GVA, Devanti, Inalto and Euromaid units sold through the big retailers. One motor, one belt, one element.
- Belt, pulley, bearing: the belt hardens and slips first; the rear bearing and idler pulley squeal next. On a Simpson-platform dryer, do all three with the kit in the table. Which dryer belt fits my model covers every brand; capacitor vs belt vs bearing sorts out a humming motor.
- Element: a cold drum is nearly always the element. Start with dryer not heating? check this cheap part first, then which heating element fits. If it trips the safety switch instead, read element earth leakage explained first.
- Filter grille: the Solt Inalto 4.5kg Dryer Filter Grille Outlet Complete GGSVDE45W, IVDE45W is the whole clip-in assembly.
- Wall brackets: they vanish in the move. The Haier Dryer Wall Mounting Bracket Kit HDV40A, HDV50E, HDV60A, HDV70E, HDY60M covers the HDV range, the Solt GVA Devanti Clothes Dryer Wall Bracket Kit covers those three badges, and every other brand is in which wall mount bracket fits my model.
Condenser dryers: heaters, condensate pumps and service kits
Condenser dryers suit apartments with nowhere to vent, and the Fisher & Paykel DE8060 family is the one most Australians own: a heater block instead of an open element, a condenser to pull the water out, and a tank or pump to get rid of it.
Two heaters cover the DE8060 family and its Haier twins, the one in the table and the Fisher Paykel Haier Condenser Dryer Heater Suits DE8060P3 DE8060P2 DE8060P1 HD80-01 HDHP90ANB1 HDHP90AN1 HDC80E1; the P-suffix on your sticker decides which. Belt, bearing and drum guides wear together: the Fisher & Paykel Condenser Dryer Service Kit DE8060P1 DE8060P2 (Belt, Bearing, Guides, Tension Wheel) does the lot in one visit. Where a pump sends condensate to a drain, it stalls: see heat pump and condenser dryer not draining.
Heat pump dryers: belts, drum wheels, drain pumps and the motor
Heat pump dryers are the ones on the laundry floor now: Fisher & Paykel DH8060 and DH9060, Haier HDHP80 and HDHP90, Hisense HDFS80 and HDFS90, Stirling SHPD80W, Esatto EHPD80, and the Inalto and Solt badges.
Two circuits live inside. The air circuit is yours to work on: the drum drive belt (the Stirling belt in the table, or the Esatto 8kg Heat Pump Dryer Drum Drive Belt EHPD80), the drum wheels that wear flat and thump (Hisense Dryer Wheel Assy HDFS80HS HDF8I10HB HDFS90HAB HDFS10HPB HDFY80H), the drain pump and the process fan. A belt-and-bearing service is a Saturday-morning job: see heat pump dryer service kit.
The refrigerant circuit (compressor, evaporator, coil and gas) is sealed and licensed-only in Australia. Drum turning, belt fine, fins clean and still not drying? That is the circuit: a licensed repairer or a new dryer. We do not sell those parts and will not pretend a heater fixes them.
Then the motor. The Haier Heat Pump Dryer Motor HDHP90AN1 HDHP90ANB1 is the big-ticket part on this page, and a dead drum has three cheaper explanations: belt, wheel assembly, and a door switch that is not closing. Confirm the motor is gone (no hum, no movement with the belt off) before you order. Error codes are decoded in heat pump and condenser dryer error codes.
Dryer parts by brand
Each brand front door goes deeper.
- Fisher & Paykel and Haier: DE, DH, HDV and HDHP families. Also the Fisher & Paykel range in the store.
- Simpson, Westinghouse and Electrolux: belts, kits and elements for the vented platform.
- Stirling: SHPD80W heat pump, Tempo vented and older models.
- Euromaid and Omega: OCD40WA, DM4KG and the shared platform.
- Inalto: IVD7, IHPD800W and the combos.
- Hoover: what still exists and what fits.
Washer-dryer combos are washing-machine parts with a drying heater added: washer-dryer combo parts Australia.
Where the model sticker is and how to match it
Open the door: on most dryers the model sticker is on the rim around the drum opening. If not, it is on the back panel, which on a wall-mounted vented dryer means a torch and a phone camera at arm’s length. Photograph it, then read the whole code, because the suffix is where the part changes:
- Fisher & Paykel: DE8060P1, DE8060P2 and DE8060P3 look identical, but the P-number is a revision and parts do not always carry across.
- Haier: HDHP90AN1 and HDHP90ANB1 are one letter apart and not every part crosses. Quote the full code.
- Simpson, Westinghouse and Electrolux: the model (39S500M, SDV501) narrows it; the PNC beside it pins the exact revision.
- Stirling, Solt, Inalto, Esatto, Euromaid and Omega: the badge changes and the platform often does not, so the model code (SHPD80W, IVDE45W, OCD40WA, EHPD80) is what counts.
Search the model number on the site, or start from the models index. Not sure of the suffix, or the sticker has faded? Send a photo through the contact page and we check before you order.
DIY or repairer?
Belts are $10–30 and an hour at most. Filter grilles and wall bracket kits are $30–50 and a screwdriver. Heaters and drain pumps are $90–130, a bolt-in swap. A heat pump motor is $350–450, which is why you confirm the fault first. A repairer’s call-out or diagnostic runs $100–165 before parts, so do the cheap parts yourself and call a repairer where a wrong guess is expensive.
Where to stop:
- Unplug at the wall before the first screw comes out. If yours is hard-wired, isolate it at the switchboard too; in most Australian states that connection is a licensed person’s job. Know the right part, then decide who fits it.
- Never bypass the door switch to run a dryer with the door open.
- The heat pump refrigerant circuit is licensed-only. No exceptions.
- Control boards get fitted after a diagnosis, not on a hunch.
Frequently asked questions
My dryer runs but the clothes come out cold. Is it always the element?
On a vented dryer, nearly always: the element or a thermal cut-out beside it. On condenser and heat pump dryers the heater block does the same job, but clean the lint filter and condenser fins first; blocked airflow mimics a dead heater.
The motor hums but the drum does not turn. Belt or motor?
Belt, until proven otherwise. Turn the drum by hand: free and loose means the belt is off; stiff or grinding means a seized bearing or drum wheel. A dead motor makes no hum; a tired start capacitor hums, then spins once you push the drum.
Can I fit a heat pump dryer heater or motor myself?
The air-side parts (belt, wheels, drain pump, fan, heater) sit behind panels and a careful owner can do them with the machine unplugged. The refrigerant circuit is licensed-only; if the fault is there, no part from us fixes it.
Does a Simpson dryer belt fit a Westinghouse or Electrolux?
The three brands share platforms, but belts and elements change between revisions and the PNC on the sticker decides. Search your model number, not the badge, or send it and we check before you order.
The sticker is gone. Can you still find my part?
Usually. Photograph the front, the lint filter and the inside of the door, note anything on the back panel, and send them through the contact page; we work back from the platform. Slower than a model number, so use the sticker if it is there.
The model number on the sticker is the whole game. Search it on the site, or send it through the contact page and we match the part before you pay. In by 12pm Sydney time and it is dispatched from Sydney’s Northern Beaches the day you order.
