Two families, several generations
HWF front loaders
The suffix decides the part. The AW generation (HWF75AW1, HWF75AW2, HWF75DW1, HWF85AW1, HWF80BW1) is the older platform. The AN generation (HWF75AN1 through HWF10AN1, ANB1 on the black versions) uses a different seal and a different pump. The K series has its own seal, the Haier Washing Machine Door Seal HWF85KW1 HWF85KB1. HWT top loaders
Simpler machines, shorter parts list: HWT60AW1, HWT70AW1 and HWT80AW1 are the 6 to 8 kg AW series, HWT08AN1, HWT09AN1 and HWT09AD1 came after, and the range tops out at the 12 kg HWT12MW1 and HWT12MW2. Pumps, suspension rods and the drive belt cover most of what goes wrong.

E4 and a tub that won’t drain
E4 on a Haier front loader is the drain fault. Unplug it, pull the kick panel and clear the filter. A sock is cheaper than a pump, and it’s usually the sock. Door seal split, water on the floor
Pull the fold back and look at the bottom: a split, or mould that won’t scrub off, means it’s done. Which seal is a generation question. If your sticker says HWF80BW1 or HWF85AW1, the Haier Washing Machine Door Seal Gasket HWF80BW1 HWF85AW1 is the AW seal under those models. The AN seal does not cross over. Banging on spin: bearings first, spider second
A front loader that roars on spin, streaks the drum with rust or drips grey water underneath has lost its lip seal and rusted its bearings. The fix is the lip seal and bearing kit; for the AW generation that is the Haier Washing machine Lip Seal & Bearings Kit HWF75AW1 HWF75AW2 HWM70-1201, and it is a drum-out job. Do it early; left alone, the shaft chews the spider (the casting the drum hangs on). Top loader stopped full of water
An HWT that stops mid-cycle with the tub full has almost always blocked or burnt out its pump. Bail it, unplug it, check the pump for a sock, then order. The Haier top loader won’t drain guide goes model by model from HWT07 to HWT12. Thumping or walking across the floor is a different fault: stretched suspension rods, replaced as a set of four.
E8 and the door that won’t lock
E8 is the door lock fault. On the HWF75 and HWF85 AW machines and their F&P WH7560 and WH8560 twins it is usually the interlock, or the plastic latch hook worn until it can’t hold. E3, slow fill, belt and lint filter
E3 is the inlet fault: no water, or too slowly. Tap open, hose filters clean, then the inlet valve; the Haier E3 error code guide and the not filling guide take you through it. Haier and Fisher & Paykel: same platform, different badge
Haier owns Fisher & Paykel, and many recent F&P front loaders are Haier platforms with a different fascia. That is why a WH7560 and an HWF75AW1 can take the same door seal, and why some listings carry both badges. It is not a rule to lean on: the AN generation, the K series and the HWF12 each moved on. Where the model sticker is and how to match it
Front loaders: open the door and look at the cabinet rim around the opening, usually low on one side, often repeated on the back panel. Top loaders: under the lid, on the rim of the top deck, or on the back. You want the full string: HWF85AN1, not HWF85; HWF80ANB1, not HWF80AN1. Unplug the machine before any of this. Bearings and spider are a full teardown, several hours with the front off; worth paying for if you haven’t done one.
