
Quick answer: Beko front loaders and washer-dryers sold in Australia (BFL, BFLB, WMY, WMB and BWD series) show error codes E01 to E18 on the display, while older LED-only WM-series machines flash the same faults as light patterns known as H1 to H11. The code you are most likely to see is E05 or H5 — a drain fault that usually ends at a blocked pump filter you can clear yourself in ten minutes. Beko Australia publishes no error-code table in any of its manuals, so this guide fills that gap from independent service data. Always switch off at the wall and unplug the machine before opening the filter panel or anything internal.

Why your Beko manual doesn’t list these codes
We checked every Australian-market Beko washing machine manual we could find — BFL1010W, BFL103ADW, BFL104ADW, BFL7510W, BFL853ADW, BFLB902ADW, BFLB904ADW, BFLB904ADG, BFLB8020W, WMY7046LB2, WMY8046LB2 and the BWD7541W washer-dryer — and not one of them publishes an error-code table. Beko Australia’s help centre doesn’t either. So when your machine stops and shows a code, the official paperwork leaves you with nothing to look it up against. That is exactly why this page exists.
There are two display behaviours across the Australian range. Machines with a numeric digital display — the BFL, BFLB, WMY, WMB and BWD washer-dryer families — show a letter-plus-number code, documented by independent repairers as E01 to E18. The leading zero is often dropped, so E5 on your display is the same code as E05 here, and E12 to E16 are not used. Older and basic machines with no numeric display, mainly the WM series, cannot show a code at all: they flash the same faults through combinations of five indicator LEDs, read as codes H1 to H11 (explained below). Australian BTL top loaders have no reliably published code list at all, so they are not covered here — diagnose those by symptom, or get in touch and describe what the machine is doing.
Beko washing machine error code table (E01–E18)
One honest caveat before the table. Beko never published this list, and two mappings circulate among repair sources. The table below follows the majority set, which is also corroborated by mapping one-to-one onto the separately documented H-code LED set. A minority source flips some meanings — assigning E01 to the door lock rather than the temperature sensor, for example. So if your machine’s behaviour doesn’t match this table, diagnose by the symptom, not the code: a machine full of water has a drain problem whatever the display says.

No display? Reading the H codes on LED-only Beko machines
Beko WM-series machines (and other models on the same five-LED controller) report the identical faults without a screen. The five indicator LEDs are read left to right as the values 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16 — add up the lit ones and you have the code number. Lights worth 1 and 4 lit together means code 5, written H5, which is the same drain fault as E05 on a display model. Note the exact pattern before you switch off, because the pattern is the code. The two code sets map onto the same faults one-to-one:

E05 / H5 — the drain fault: start at the pump filter
This is the code we hear about more than any other, and most of the time it never gets past step four. Switch off at the wall and unplug the machine before you open the filter panel.
- Unplug the machine, then lay towels down and slide a shallow tray under the small access panel at the bottom front.
- Open the panel and unscrew the pump filter anticlockwise. Water will come out — let it finish.
- Clear all lint, coins, bra wires and hair pins from the filter, then feel inside the cavity behind it for anything jamming the impeller.
- Refit the filter firmly, restore power and run a Spin or Pump program to test.
- Still not draining? Check the drain hose isn’t kinked, trapped behind the machine or pushed too far down the standpipe — Beko’s own troubleshooting lists hose and filter as the first two checks.
- Listen when the drain phase starts. A hum with no water moving suggests a jammed or failed pump; total silence suggests the pump is getting no power.

E09 and E10 — door lock problems
- Open the door, check nothing is trapped in the rubber seal, and close it again firmly — Beko lists this as the first check.
- Look for garments hanging over the lip of the drum, and check the door isn’t dropping on its hinge or sitting proud on a loose catch.
- Power cycle: off at the wall for 60 seconds, then retry.
- If the door is locked shut with water inside, run the Pump or Spin program to drain first, then wait — the lock stays on while the machine is hot or spinning.
- With no power at all, open the pump filter cap and pull down the emergency release handle behind it.
A door that closes correctly but still throws E09 usually needs a new interlock — see the listings in the table above, or the BEKO Washing Machine Door Switch BFL8510W,BFLB902ADW,BFL103ADW,BFL104ADW,BFL1010 for the newer BFL family. E04 and E08 — machine not filling
- Open both taps fully and confirm water actually runs elsewhere in the house.
- Straighten the inlet hose and check nothing is standing on it or crushing it behind the machine.
- Unplug the machine, turn off the tap, disconnect the inlet hose at the machine end and clean the small mesh strainer inside the connection.
- Make sure the door is properly closed — Beko’s own manual lists it among the fill checks.
- Listen at fill time: total silence from the valve area points at the inlet valve or its supply, which is where a technician or the Part Finder Quiz comes in.
E17 and E18 — protective stops you can fix yourself
Neither of these means anything is broken. E17 says the machine detected excessive foam and stopped to deal with it: let it finish clearing, run one or two rinse cycles with no detergent, and then dose down — Beko’s manuals repeat the fix as simply using the recommended amount of a front-loader detergent. On auto-dosing models, make sure you haven’t added a manual dose on top of a full dosing tank.
E18 says the automatic unbalanced-load detection stopped the spin. Open the door, spread the laundry evenly, and restart. A single heavy item — a bath mat, a doona — balances better with a couple of towels added. Beko lists both extremes as causes: add laundry if the load is tiny, remove some if it’s stuffed. If it happens on every load, check the machine is level, adjust the feet, and confirm the transit bolts were actually removed at installation.
E03, E06 and E11 — when to stop and call a technician
E03 (H3 on LED models) means the heater has been detected as permanently on. Do not restart the cycle to see if it clears: stop using the machine and unplug it, because uncontrolled heating is a genuine safety risk. Control-board relay work is not a DIY repair.
For the motor codes E06 and E11, unplug the machine and turn the drum by hand. Grinding, dragging or something rattling between drum and tub points mechanical; a drum that spins freely while the machine makes no attempt to drive it points electrical. One check worth making before condemning a motor: if the motor runs but the drum stays still, the drive belt has probably let go — a cheap fix on belt-driven models like the BEKO WASHING MACHINE DRIVE BELT BFL7510W or the BEKO Front Load WASHING MACHINE DRIVE BELT Suit WMB651441L. Motor, brush and board diagnosis beyond that belongs with a qualified technician.
Codes that aren’t faults
Beko machines signal plenty of things that look alarming and mean nothing is wrong:
- Dosing symbol flashing (auto-dosing AD models): the detergent or softener tank is running low. The machine can still dose for roughly two to three more cycles — just top it up.
- Door Lock Engaged light on, door won’t open: normal protection while the water level is above the door line, or while heating or spinning. Drain with the Pump or Spin program, or wait.
- Child Lock symbol and a beep at every button press: a feature, not a fault. Hold the relevant auxiliary function button for three seconds until the countdown ends.
- Pause symbol flashing: someone pressed Start/Pause. Press it again.
- Remaining time stops counting or jumps up: the timer waits for filling, heating and balance correction, and extends for low water pressure or a cold supply. Documented as normal.
- Won’t advance to spin: unbalanced load, water not fully drained (check the filter), or foam suppression running. All three are protective.
- Program won’t start or select at all: the machine can put itself into self-protection over supply voltage or water pressure. Cancel by turning the program knob to another program or holding On/Off for three seconds, depending on model.
- No water visible during the wash: front loaders wash with a low water level by design — the water is in the part you can’t see.

Why doesn’t my Beko manual list any error codes?
Because Beko Australia doesn’t publish them — every AU manual we checked uses a plain-language problem/cause/solution table with no code list, and the help centre is the same. The meanings on this page come from independent service data for the control platform Beko builds these machines on, which is why we tell you to trust the symptom over the code if the two ever disagree.
What is the most common Beko washing machine error code?
E05 (H5 on LED-only models), the drain fault. In the great majority of cases the cause is a blocked pump filter, and clearing it takes about ten minutes with towels, a tray and the machine unplugged. Only after the filter, the cavity behind it and the drain hose check out should the pump itself come under suspicion.
How do I clear or reset a Beko error code?
Cancel the program: depending on model, turn the Programme Selection knob to another program, or press and hold On/Off for three seconds. A 60-second switch-off at the wall also rules out a transient code. If the code returns as soon as the machine reaches the same point in the cycle, it’s real — resetting again won’t fix the underlying fault.
My Beko has no display — how do I read the flashing lights?
Count the LEDs as values: left to right they are worth 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16. Add up the ones that are lit and you have the code — lights worth 1 and 4 together make 5, so that pattern is H5, the drain fault. Write the pattern down before switching off, then use the LED table above.
Are Beko error codes the same on every model?
Mostly, but not perfectly. Display models use E-codes and LED-only models use the matching H-codes, and E10 in particular varies — door on most machines, water intake or drain on some.
