Quick answer: A Beko washing machine door seal (door gasket or boot) seals the drum opening to the door so water stays in the tub and out of the cabinet. The first sign of failure is usually this: water on the floor at the front of the machine during the wash or spin. Replacement door seals for Beko washing machines run about $30–70; a seal is one of the cheaper repairs that saves a machine from the tip. Match the full model number on your Beko sticker (81241LC, BFL7510W, BFL8510MG, BFL8510W and more) against the listing title before you order.

What the door seal does on a Beko washing machine
The door seal seals the drum opening to the door so water stays in the tub and out of the cabinet. On Beko washing machines sold in Australia the same part is shared across model families, which is why one listing covers several model numbers, and why two door seals that look alike are not interchangeable: the mounting, the plug and the signal differ between families. The full model number on your sticker settles it.
Pull the plug before you start, and never run the machine with a seal lip off: the drum edge is sharp and the water goes straight into the electrics below.
Symptoms of a failed Beko door seal
| What you see | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| Water on the floor at the front of the machine during the wash or spin | A split or perished lip, usually at the bottom where water sits |
| Black mould that will not scrub out of the folds | The rubber has gone porous; cleaning no longer reaches it |
| A tear or bulge where the door glass presses on the seal | The seal has been pinched by a zip or button, or the door is sitting low on its hinge |
| Clothes coming out with grey marks or small rips | A damaged seal edge is catching the load every rotation |
Is it really the door seal?
A leak at the front is not always the seal. Check the detergent drawer for a blocked siphon (suds foam out and run down the inside of the door), check the drain filter cap is tight, and run a cycle with a torch under the machine to see whether the water starts at the seal or further back. A leak only on spin that appears under the machine is usually the pump or a hose, not the seal.
Where is the model sticker on a Beko washing machine
Inside the door rim with the door open, or behind the detergent drawer. Write the full code down, letters and numbers, or photograph it: the suffix matters, and the badge on the front of the machine is not enough. Our Beko model number guide has photos of each spot.
Which Beko door seal is listed for your model
One row per model number as it appears on the sticker. The part column is the listing title, which names every model that listing covers.

Replacing the door seal: the job in order
- Pull the plug and open the door. Pull the outer lip of the seal back from the front panel and find the band or spring clip that holds it; ease it off and work the lip free all the way round.
- Note where the drain holes in the seal sit, usually at six o'clock, and where any small hoses or the door-lock recess line up. Photograph it.
- Reach inside and release the inner band on the drum lip. Some are a spring band you stretch off, some a screw clamp you loosen.
- Peel the old seal off the drum lip, clean the lip and the front panel channel of grit and old detergent.
- Install the new seal to the drum lip first, drain holes at the bottom, and reinstall the inner band. Then work the outer lip onto the front panel and reinstall the outer band.
- Run a short cycle with an empty drum and a towel on the floor. Check both lips before you trust it with a load.
DIY or a repairer?
For most people this is a DIY job: a seal is one of the cheaper repairs that saves a machine from the tip. A repairer’s call-out in Australia is in the $100–165 band before the part, so the saving is the labour. Use a licensed repairer if the appliance is hard-wired, if you find burnt or melted wiring, if gas or sealed refrigerant is involved, or if the new part does not cure the fault, because the next suspect is usually the control board and that is fitted after diagnosis, not before.
Frequently asked questions
The seal is leaking but I cannot get the outer band off. Is there a trick?
Find the spring on the band, usually at the bottom or at the lock side, and lever it with a flat screwdriver towards the door opening while you pull the band outwards. On a screw-clamp band, loosen the screw a long way before you pull. Do not cut the band: the new seal does not come with one on most models.
Do I need to take the front panel off?
On most front loaders sold here the seal changes from the front with the door open. A few machines put the inner band behind the front panel; the listing title and the model sticker tell you which you have.
Why did the seal split in the first place?
Bottom-of-the-seal splits are water sitting in the fold; wipe the lip and leave the door ajar between loads. A split at the top or side is usually a trapped zip, a coin, or a door that has dropped on its hinge, so check the hinge and the door catch when you install the new one.
Can I glue or patch the old seal?
A patch holds for a few loads at most. The rubber around the split is already perished and the next spin opens it again. Install the right seal once.
Is a cheaper seal from a different model close enough?
No. Seals differ in diameter, lip depth, the drain-hole position and where the door-lock recess sits. A seal for the wrong model leaks or jams the door. Match the full model number against the listing title.
