A drip trail under the door after every wash, or a gasket growing mould faster than you can clean it, calls for a new door seal. On these Hisense front loaders it is a careful hour with a screwdriver and two retaining bands.
What you will need
- The correct Hisense door seal for your model
- Flat-blade screwdriver and pliers
- Dish soap for seating the rubber — never grease
- A towel and 45-60 minutes
Step by step
- Remove the outer retaining band. With the door open, work the flat blade under the band in the seal’s outer lip and ease it off, controlling the spring as it releases.
- Peel the seal and record its orientation. Find the drain holes at the bottom of the seal and any moulded alignment marks. Photograph the seal in place, then pull the inner lip off the tub ring.
- Clean the tub and cabinet lips until they squeak. Every millimetre of old residue under the new rubber is a future drip. This is the step that decides whether the repair lasts.
- Seat the new seal drain-holes-down on the tub ring. Work from the bottom up both sides, easing the inner lip fully home around the circumference. Go around twice — the second pass always finds a shy section.
- Refit both bands and fold the outer lip home. Seat each band in its channel working opposite sides alternately. The seal should sit even and unpuckered the whole way round.
- Run a rinse cycle, then a loaded wash. Watch the door rim and floor on both. Dry both times means the job is done.

My model is not HWFS8514E — will it fit?
This seal is listed for the HWFS8514E and HWFS1015E. Hisense uses different seals across its front loader ranges, so match the full model number from the sticker inside the door frame, or run it through the Part Finder.
Do I have to remove the front panel of the machine?
On most of these models the seal can be changed from the front with the panel in place, which is the method above. If a band anchor hides behind the panel on your machine, removing the panel adds ten minutes and a few screws — the seal steps are identical.
Why did my old seal fail?
Detergent residue, trapped moisture and door pressure age the rubber. Cold washes with the door shut between loads accelerate the mould; hot washes and an open door slow it down.
