When that board fails, the main control board still runs the program — fill, wash, drain all work — but the drum won’t turn under load. That’s why the tell-tale symptom is “everything works except the spin.”

Rule out the cheap causes first
Before you order a board, spend ten minutes confirming it isn’t something simpler — a no-spin has a few low-cost causes that look identical from the front:
1. An unbalanced or overloaded drum
Haier front loaders refuse to spin if the load is badly out of balance — one wet doona bunched on one side will do it. Redistribute the load and run a spin-only cycle. If it spins now, there was never a fault.
2. A blocked drain or pump

3. The door lock
If the door interlock isn’t confirming “locked,” the machine won’t spin for safety. A faulty lock usually throws a door error, and it’s a far cheaper part than the controller.
4. Worn motor brushes — not on these models
Older universal-motor machines wear out carbon brushes. Haier’s BLDC motors have no brushes, so if yours is a recent direct-drive front loader, that common fix doesn’t apply — which points the finger back at the controller.
Confirm it’s the controller
- Unplug the machine at the wall before touching anything.
- Remove the rear access panel (a handful of screws) and find the motor controller — a finned board, usually mounted low near the motor.
- Inspect the board: look for scorch marks, a blown or bulged capacitor, or a burnt smell. Visible damage is a confirmed failure.
- Check the connectors: the heavy motor plug and the ribbon to the main board can vibrate loose. Re-seat both firmly and re-test before condemning the board.
- If the board is scorched, or everything else (drain, balance, door lock) checks out and the drum still won’t spin, the controller is the fault.
