Which fault do you have: interlock, handle, or both?
Three door symptoms bring Beko owners here; each points to a different part.
The door will not lock and the cycle will not start
You press start, the machine may hum or click briefly, then nothing — no water, usually with a flashing door light or a door-related error. The interlock is a small switch behind the front panel where the door hook enters; when it wears, the control board never gets the “door locked” signal and refuses to fill.
To confirm: close the door firmly, press start and listen. A healthy interlock clicks within a few seconds and the machine begins to fill. No click and no fill, on a door that closes normally, is the classic interlock failure. Check that a sock or a fold of the door seal is not holding the door open.
The door will not open at the end of the cycle
Front-loader interlocks hold the door for a minute or two after the cycle ends. If yours stays locked well past that with no water in the drum, the interlock is likely stuck. Do not haul on the handle — that is how a stuck lock turns into a snapped handle as well. Unplug, wait several minutes, then try again; if your model has an emergency release tab behind the pump filter flap, use it. The handle has snapped, flops loosely, or will not pull the hook back
Obvious when it happens: the handle comes away in your hand, hangs limp with no spring return, or shows a crack at the pivot. The subtler version looks intact but no longer draws the hook back far enough, so the door has to be pushed and jiggled to latch, or pops open on its own. Years of use plus a few hard yanks on a stuck door eventually crack the moulded plastic — which is why a snapped handle so often sits in front of a tired interlock. Replacing only the visible break leaves the original fault in place.
Why replace the interlock and the door handle together
The door hook and the interlock body rub against each other every time the door closes and locks, so they wear as a pair. A new interlock behind a sloppy handle hook may not seat squarely, and door errors creep back within weeks; a new handle on a machine whose lock is on the way out leaves the not-starting or not-releasing symptom in place. Where the kit makes sense: an older machine where the door has played up and the handle is loose or broken; one order and one strip-down; and it is priced below buying the two parts separately, so there is no penalty for doing both.
Where a single part is the better buy: a young machine with a cleanly snapped handle and a lock that has never missed a beat — the handle alone will do. And if the symptom is really a caught item, a loose connector or a control board fault, neither part will help — confirm the fault first.
How to replace the Beko door interlock and handle
Allow 20–30 minutes. You need a screwdriver set (check whether yours uses Phillips or Torx heads), a small flat-blade screwdriver for the door seal clamp band, and a towel for the door. Unplug the machine and turn off the water taps first. No drum removal, no heavy lifting.
Interlock switch
- Open the door, peel back the outer lip of the door seal where it meets the front panel and lever off the outer spring clamp band. You only need the seal free around the lock side, not off the tub.
- Undo the screws holding the interlock to the inside of the front panel, beside the latch slot.
- Draw the interlock out behind the panel and photograph the wiring connector before you unclip it.
- Clip the connector onto the new 2805310100 interlock, seat it, refit the screws, then refit the clamp band and tuck the seal lip back all the way round.
Door handle
- Support the door, undo the hinge screws and lay the door face down on the towel.
- Undo the screws around the inner door ring and separate the two halves.
- Photograph how the old handle, its spring and pivot pin sit before lifting anything out. Fit the new 2813170100 handle the same way and check it springs back freely.
- Reassemble the halves, rehang the door and check it closes square to the panel.
Restore power and water and run a short rinse: you should hear the lock click, see the machine fill, and get a clean release a minute or two after it finishes. Call an appliance tradie if the machine still will not fill with the door light behaving normally (wiring or board is more likely), if there is scorched plastic at the lock connector, or if the door shell itself is cracked — the kit will not fix a broken door frame.
Not the same part: WMB, WM7110W and BFL series doors
Beko has used more than one door handle and door switch across its Australian front loaders, and the model number is what separates them.
- WM7110W, WM7120W, WM74135W, WMB61021W and WMB61221W take the Beko 2828780100 door handle, which is not the handle in this kit; order that one instead, plus the interlock if the lock has also failed.
- BFL8510W, BFLB902ADW, BFL103ADW, BFL104ADW and BFL1010 use a different Beko BFL-series door switch, not the 2805310100 interlock.

My model is a WMB61221W. Is this the right kit?
No. The WMB61221W, WMB61021W, WM7110W, WM7120W and WM74135W use the 2828780100 door handle, which is not the handle in this kit. Order that handle on its own, plus the interlock if the lock has also failed.
The door is stuck locked with clothes inside. How do I open it without breaking the handle?
Unplug the machine, make sure the drum has drained, and wait several minutes for the lock to release. If it still will not open, use the emergency release tab behind the pump filter flap if your model has one. Do not yank the handle.
