Quick answer: A Fisher & Paykel washing machine hose (inlet, drain or internal hose) carries water in, out, or between the tub and the pump. The first sign of failure is usually this: a leak under the machine on fill or on drain. Replacement hoses for Fisher & Paykel washing machines run about $10–30; a hose is cheap and the job is quick. Match the full model number on your Fisher & Paykel sticker (WH1060P3, WH1160S1, WH7560J1, WH7560P1 and more) against the listing title before you order.

What the hose does on a Fisher & Paykel washing machine
The hose carries water in, out, or between the tub and the pump. On Fisher & Paykel washing machines sold in Australia the same part is shared across model families, which is why one listing covers several model numbers, and why two hoses that look alike are not interchangeable: the length, the bend and the spigot size differ between families. The full model number on your sticker settles it.
Turn off the taps and pull the plug first.
Symptoms of a failed Fisher & Paykel hose
| What you see | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| A leak under the machine on fill or on drain | A split hose or a failed clamp |
| Water on the floor behind the machine | The inlet hose or its washer, or the drain hose has split |
| The machine drains slowly or siphons water back in | The drain hose is kinked, blocked or set at the wrong height |
| A bulge or a soft spot on a hose | The hose is about to burst |
Is it really the hose?
Find the water before you buy. Dry the floor, put newspaper under and behind the machine, and run a short cycle while you watch with a torch. Fill leaks start as the drum fills, so they point to the inlet hoses, the valve or the drawer hose. Drain leaks start as the pump runs, so they point to the pump, the filter cap or the drain hose. A leak that appears only on spin is often the tub-to-pump hose or the door seal. Tighten clamps and check the inlet-hose washers first: a hose that is merely loose is a two-minute fix, and a hose that has slipped off its spigot looks like a split one until you look closely.
Where is the model sticker on a Fisher & Paykel washing machine
Under the lid, on the rim of the body, or on the back panel. Write the full code down, letters and numbers, or photograph it: the suffix matters, and the badge on the front of the machine is not enough. Our Fisher & Paykel model number guide has photos of each spot.
Which Fisher & Paykel hose is listed for your model
One row per model number as it appears on the sticker. The part column is the listing title, which names every model that listing covers. Fisher & Paykel shares platforms with Haier, so some listings carry that name; the model numbers are what count.

Before you order a Fisher & Paykel hose
Internal hoses are moulded to the machine: the tub-to-pump hose, the drawer-to-tub hose and the pressure hose each have a set length, bend and spigot size, and a hose from a sibling model can be a few centimetres short or kink on the bend. The listing title names the hose by its job and the models it is listed for, so check both: the job you found with the torch and the full model number on your sticker. If the listing is for the external inlet or drain hose, note the length and the fitting size, and whether it comes with the clamps. If your model is not in any title, send us the model number and a photo of the old hose before you order.
Replacing the hose: the job in order
- Turn off the taps and pull the plug. Drain through the filter if the hose is on the drain side.
- Photograph the hose run and both clamps before you release anything.
- Release the clamps, twist the old hose free, and clean the spigots.
- Install the new hose in the same route, clamps in the same positions.
- Turn on, run a cycle and watch both ends.
DIY or a repairer?
For most people this is a DIY job: a hose is cheap and the job is quick. A repairer’s call-out in Australia is in the $100–165 band before the part, so the saving is the labour. Use a licensed repairer if the appliance is hard-wired, if you find burnt or melted wiring, if gas or sealed refrigerant is involved, or if the new part does not cure the fault, because the next suspect is usually the control board and that is fitted after diagnosis, not before.
Frequently asked questions
The leak is under the machine and I cannot see where. How do I find it?
Dry everything, put newspaper under the machine, and run a short cycle while you watch with a torch. The first wet patch tells you the side. Fill side: inlet valve or its hose. Drain side: pump, filter cap or drain hose. Front: the door seal.
Can I use a hardware-store hose?
For the external inlet and drain hoses, often yes. Internal hoses are shaped for the machine; match the full model number against the listing title.
Do I need a repairer?
No. Hoses are clamps and a towel.
How often should inlet hoses be replaced?
Every five years or so, and sooner if they bulge. A burst inlet hose floods a house.
The drain hose keeps siphoning. Why?
It is pushed too far into the standpipe or set too low. Lift it to the height the manual gives.
Which hose is it? There are several under there.
Follow the water. The inlet hoses run from the taps to the valve at the back top. The drawer hose runs from the valve to the detergent drawer and a wide bellows hose runs from the drawer down to the tub. The tub-to-pump hose is the big corrugated one at the bottom, and the drain hose leaves the pump and goes out the back. Photograph the wet one and match it to the listing photo.
Do new hoses come with clamps?
Usually not. Reuse the old spring clamps if they still grip; replace a rusted or stretched one with a worm-drive clamp of the same size.
